Glynda Pendergrass has served as Trustee since September 1, 2002. Prior to being elected Glynda taught business at Dickson County High School.  She worked 20 years as the office manager of a construction business and also worked  in taxes and accounting. She has three children, Mark, Jamey and Audra and eleven grandchildren, Lulu, Elliott, Delia, Zelda, Allison, Jake, Adia, Dallas, Liam, Levi, and Lily.

Glynda, a lifelong resident of Dickson County, graduated from Dickson High School in 1969 and received a BS degree in Business Education from Austin Peay State University.  Glynda received designation from the University of Tennessee for Government Training as a Certified Public Administrator.  She also received a Certificate of Attainment from the University of Tennessee Local Government Leadership Program.

 

Duties of the Trustee

The County Trustee’s Office acts as treasurer for the funds of Dickson County Government, including the Dickson County School System. The office collects all real and personal property taxes, to keep an account of all money received for County Government and to invest temporarily idle County funds.  The Trustee also dispurses sales tax revenues. About Dickson County

Founded in 1803, Dickson County was named for William Dickson, a Nashville physician and legislator who reportedly was a friend of President Andrew Jackson. Dickson County's rich history includes industry in the iron furnaces of Cumberland Furnace.
